Seller bags pole at Zwartkops

Clint Seller will start both SuperGP races from pole position at Zwartkops Raceway when the third round of the 2017 DEOD SuperGP Champions Trophy gets underway tomorrow. The former champion, who has won three out of the four races held this season, didn’t let the slightly damp track worry him as he piloted his MiWay Yamaha Racing R1 to the two quickest lap times of the 15-minute qualifying session this afternoon. He will line up alongside veteran Lance Isaacs (SuperBets / Sandton BMW Motorrad S1000RR) with Brandon Goode on the Linex Yamaha R1 completing the front row of the grid in both races.

Daryn Upton (Paramount Tracks / Fourways Motorcycles Kawasaki ZX10R), Michael White (Consortium Shipping Yamaha R1) and Greg Gildenhuys (Autohaus Towing Kawasaki ZX10R) will occupy the second row of the grid in both races. With less than a second between the top six, race fans could be in for another spectacular battle at the head of the SuperGP field.

In the SuperMasters Interprovincial category  championship leader Hendrik de Bruin (NETCB Yamaha R1) led the way from Johnny Krieger (Lekka Racing / Hygenica Yamaha R1) and Heinrich Rheeder (BMW Motorrad / Rheeder Racing S1000RR).

After missing the last round in East London due to overseas racing commitments, Steven Odendaal (Petra Yamaha R6) announced his return in style grabbing pole position with a lap almost nine tenths quicker than his closest rival Hayden Jonas who is now part of the MiWay Yamaha Racing squad, filling in for the injured Adolf Boshoff. Jesse Boshoff (Phoenix Payroll Systems Kawasaki ZX6) had his best qualifying session of the season to date, claiming third on the grid.

Aiden Liebenberg (Shop #74 / Fercor Construction Kawasaki ZX6), Kewyn Snyman (Otto Racing Kawasaki ZX6) and Malcolm Rudman (Montclair Motorcycles Kawasaki ZX6) fill the second row of the grid, the three of them separated by just a couple of tenths.

Ricardo Otto (Otto Racing / Inex Construction KTM390) looked to have pole position in the SuperJunior category, but his bike was found to be underweight at the end of the session relegating him to the back of the grid. His misfortune means that East London double race winner Taric van der Merwe (Evolve Nutrition KTM390) will start from pole ahead of Luca Coccioni (KTM390) and Tyreece Robert (KTM390).

Shaun Jubber (RAD Moto KTM RC12) will head the BOTTS pack from Jade Gutzeit (Dezzi Raceway Ducati Panagale) and Keagan Wessels (Moto Rentals KTM RC8) while Taric van der Merwe (Evolve Nutrition Kawasaki ZX 250) occupies pole position from Luca Balona (Hi-Tech Racing Kawasaki ZX250) and Connor Thompson (Monroe Racing Kawasaki ZX250) in the 250 Cup.
