Podium the target for Isaacs

A double podium is the target for Lance Isaacs Racing as they head down to the East London Grand Prix circuit for round 2 of the SuperGP Champions Trophy this weekend.

After a very strong season opener in Cape Town one month ago, the spirits are high in the Supabets / Sandton BMW
Motorrad racing squad. “It went all unexpectedly well in the Mother City regardless of the short preparation time before race 1, team principle and race rider Isaacs explains. We were thrilled with our first podium of the season in the SuperGP and a double win in the SuperMasters class”

Two weeks ago we managed to do an extra test at Zwartkops Raceway to work on more set-up strategies ahead of the East London Grand Prix. During the Cape Town race we only worked on the Killarney set-up and we needed extra track time in order to understand the new components on the BMW S1000RR. Together with team engineer Dean Ferreira we worked on a meticulous program and we are sure that it’s going to pay off.

The 3,8km long track with two of the fastest corners in South Africa suits the BMW S1000RR extremely well and in 2014 Isaacs scored his first victory on that bike. It is therefore that he believes a double podium is a realistic prognosis and if all goes well, a fresh victory could be on the table.

This years’ Super-GP champions Trophy coincides with the African Bike Week festival in East London so we expect a large crowd to be present to watch the racing. We will have three practice sessions on Friday with the all-important qualifying.

Saturday will see a traditional warming up session followed by two races.
